Going to whangarei

Yesterday, we went to Whangarei because we won our class ‘attendance competition’. We won by a slim margin of about 1.7% and the score we got was 89.1 and in second was 88.6%. When we traveled down i had a headache and i felt like wanted to spew up. When we got to the Whangarei pool’s the Highbrow slide was shut and then they opened up the bombing spot and then they shut that and then opened the highgrow slide and then everybody just rushed up to go on first. After that we went to the Pizza place and the Park and everybody climbed up the big blue Spider web and then it was fun because everybody was jumping off and then after that we had Pizza and some fizzy drinks and we got told not to  go on the spinning stuff otherwise you had to walk home. When we were going home we had to go the Awarua way because if we didn't we wouldn’t have been able to get catch the buses in time. I felt happy because we went to Whangarei and because we won the competition.

Do you like Uniforms? Check this out.

Tautoro School Uniforms

By  charlee & Tuishaly  and    Edited by Whaea Lana

I believe that we should have uniforms to School.Do you agree?
Uniforms look good on people. They are tidy and make people stand out. This is a good thing!

The first reason why I think we should have a uniform is because we can get dressed faster in the mornings.  When we wake up it takes us like fifteen to twenty minutes to get changed. On the other hand, if  we had uniforms it takes us three minutes to get changed. Uniforms are easy to put on and we do not have to think about what we will wear.

The second reason why I think we should have uniforms is because they look smart. Uniforms look tidy. Everyone is in the same. We look like a team. Uniforms are tidy. For example, Kerikeri pupils have  green and white T-shirts and black shorts. Kura Kaupapa has purple T-shirts and black shorts. These guys always look tidy and neat. They stand out for their school.

The last reason why I think we should have uniforms  is  so when we go out of the school grounds  we are still carrying the Tautoro sign. In other words,   wherever  we go we will be representing our kura. For example, when we travel home, or walk up town we will be representing  Tautoro School. Kura Kaupapa  and Kerikeri high school will not be  the only schools with a uniform on.

In summary, I believe that we should  have uniform, I think this because they make the mornings easier, we will look smart and we will represent Tautoro school.

Our  next steps are:

To independently organise our persuasive writing (intro with opinion, main ideas and supporting detail, connective, end with a summary)
To add more detail to support our reasons
To use capital letters for names of places and schools (proper nouns)
To learn and use emotive words.
