Reading Self-Assessment

Week Two - Tim's Costume.

Today I read “Tim’s Costume” by Eleanor Hughes.  It is about a boy called Tim.  He is thinking about a costume for the green party he has been invited to.  Sophie thought of a grasshopper.  But he got puffed from hopping around.  Mum thought of a tree, but the branches were too prickly.  He tried his dad’s green sleeping bag, but it was too hard to move around.  Tim thought and thought.  He looked around his room and suddenly he knew what he wanted to be.  A Alien.

This week I think my reading was better than last time because Whaea Gaylene said I was using expression well.  I didn’t know that meant you changed your voice.  I also feel like i’ve picked up on my reading.  It’s getting easier.  It helped that I listened to the whole story first.
